We are the defending world champions so we are one of the favourites to win the tournament. We really want to win the trophy twice in a row again. We last did this in 1934 and 1938. We also want to join Brazil as the only teams to win the World Cup five times. That is an amazing achievement. Football is in our blood in Italy. It’s the national passion. Serie A is the best league in the world, full of the most skilful players. We have Buffon, the world’s greatest goalkeeper. We have the legendary Cannavaro in defence. Most of our squad play in Italy – that’s why we’re such a strong team. All Italians believe we can win this tournament again. Our players have the same belief. They will make all Italians proud when we lift that beautiful gold trophy.
